Hello. Please help if you can. I only noticed last night that my piggies eye looked a bit funny. After having a closer look, there appears to a small growth inside the lower lid of her eye. It is just one eye and it doesn't seem to bother Liz at all. There is no redness (the redness in the picture is just camera glare). I googled it and I personally think it is pea eye or fatty eye but I would like to see what others think. If it is pea eye, do I need to worry or just keep an eye on her? Does she need to go to the vets as I read it can be a sign of old age or heart problems but she is only 11months of age. Any help would be appreciated.

I agree, I don't think there's anything to worry about there. That said, do try to pull down her eyelid to ensure there isn't anything stuck in there that could be irritating her - I did have a piggy who looked like she had fatty eye and it turned out there was a grass seed stuck in there! - but I've also had a piggy with plain old fatty eye and it didn't cause her any discomfort or irritation at all.

Thanks Orlaith.
There doesn't seem to be anything stuck in there. As it isn't bothering my piggy at all, I will just keep an eye on her and I will probably pop her along to the vets just for piece of mind,

Hello Royalpiggywigs,
This little piggy does indeed have pea eye, also known as fatty eye. This is purely excess fat showing up in the eye lid. Nothing to worry about at all. You are perhaps just feeding her a little bit too well!
