Hey all For the passed two weeks I have been battling with my Texel girl. She has a Urinary Tract Infection and is on Baytril antibiotics. She is not getting any better and I'm forced to hand feed water and food. What else can I do to help her??? I'm afraid I'm going to lose her! Please help?

take her back to the vet if shes not getting any better. The vet may have to put her on another antibiotic. I hope she gets better and everything turns out ok.

How is your lady doing? I hope she's okay.
Can you ask your vet to give you septrin instead of baytril? It's meant to be better for UTIs.
Are you still having to hand-feed her? Is she taking any water by herself?

Here's the weird thing...she's eating on her own but refuses to drink alone. She will happily drink from the syringe but refuses her water bottle???

She might not be thirsty when you're watching her or if she's getting enough veg she might be getting water from her diet. No harm to ensure she gets a bit of water a day, but she could be drinking when you aren't looking.

Her bottle remains untouched and that's what worries me. So I keep syringe feeding water even though she's eating alone now.

In that case you're right to ensure she's getting some water. Does she fight you a lot when you're giving her water or does she look for it?
Can you check her water bottle to make sure it isn't blocked? Sometimes the nozzles can get airlocked and you need to give them a shake to make sure water can get out.

Beer bottle is perfect. I check all bottles three times a day. She doesn't fight at all as she is very tame and quite willingly takes the water. She's very good with it. She will however tell me worn her right paw that she's had enough.

Ha, I was thinking! That's good that she tells you when she's done.

I had to syringe feed My boy water when he had a UTI. When he felt better he went back to drinking on his own.

I've now put a water bowl and a bottle in her cage. I didn't give her water with a syringe yet today because she is off her meds and eating well. I think she isn't drinking because she's getting water from me all the time.

FeeFee is finally her old self again. She refuses her water bottle but has taken to the bowl so either way I'm happy. Here is a sleepy pic of her as a baby! Attachments:
