Hello I'm new to guinea pigs and I recently adopted two males from the local pet store (yes, I know it's a major no-no but there are no breeders close to me.) When I was looking at my baby Thorin the morning after I brought him home there was yellow crust that closed half his eye, I took a damp soft towel and wiped it clean but it's still squinty. Has anyone else experience this and have an idea as to why? I'm calling around tomorrow to make an appointment with the vet but for the time being is there anything I can do to make sure he's comfortable?

He might have a little infection. Keeping the eye free of crust and drying the fur around the eye if it is wet will help. Your vet should give you drops or an ointment to sort out his eye issues.
