Hi there! Id like to introduce myself and my new angel, Tribble Buttercup. She is my first piggie, and Im already pretty attached! Thus far shes had a bath ((she was pretty filthy)), a long snuggle ((she kept making these little chirping sounds and grinding her teeth, and helped me groom her)). She's been chomping on Timothy Hay, parsley, a bite of carrot, a small smackeral of a cucumber, a tiny sliver of green pepper and some pellets! ((Shes not a fan of the Orange slice i put in there for her...any suggestion on serving orange?)) Shes in a much bigger cage than when she arrived and she seems to be having fun exploring her new surroundings! I hope she makes new friends! I do have a couple of questions 1) what is the best style of plate/bowl/dish to put their veggies in? I have them in a pet dish, but it seems a bit deep to her... and 2) what shampoo do you all reccomend? I only gave her as sponge bath earlier but she definitely needs a good lather and rinse lol Thanks everyone! Can't wait to chat! Attachments:

Welcome to the forum! Tribble is a cute little lady! A lot of pigs aren't too fond of orange as it can taste quite sour to them. Here is a good list of piggy-safe foods that you can try. Some pigs take a few goes to get to like things, so if she doesn't take to something on the first try, don't give up! My guys especially like: bell peppers, cucumbers, celery, fresh beetroot, carrots, baby corn, apples, parsley, coriander, pak choi, cabbage, spinach, lettuce (not iceberg), and lots more. Most pigs don't need baths unless they're quite mucky. Any gentle baby shampoo will do (only use a small amount) or, if you prefer a pet shampoo, Gorgeous Guineas do a range of shampoos formulated specifically with guinea pigs in mind, as well as some creams for sore paws, etc. I have used several of their products and I'm very happy with them, though they can be a little bit pricey if you're only buying for one pig. Any bowl is usually fine. She should be able to reach in so long as the sides aren't higher than about two inches.
