Hi, I live in Brisbane, Australia. I loved having guinea pigs while my children were young and have bought three more this week. I found one lovely female, all alone and had to take her home. I hoped to find another soon after but it became a bit urgent as she moped and wouldn't eat unless hand fed. I know she wasn't feeding as the food was untouched and her droppings were all in her fleecy igloo house. Fortunately, she was very tame and happy to be hand fed but I didn't feel she was getting enough. I ended up traveling to another town to find her some roommates. I had intended getting only one more but ended up with two tiny cuties. My grandchildren named the first one Wombat Lily. She does look like a wombat! Well, Wombat Lily, was delighted to meet her new friends and they all eat together happily and keep each other warm at night. The nights are cold at this time of the year. The new guinea pigs have been named Honey Rose and Black-Eyed Sue. They are not used to being handled yet. I gave them a few days to grow comfortable with their new circumstances but but today I gave the little ones some lap time with me.
