You can sometimes get a Guinea Pig advertised free to good homes.
I have seen Guinea Pigs for sale from as little as £5 all the way up to £17.99p

They are sold from $5 to $35 in the U.S., sometimes more for show quality. Of course we have the "free to a good home" piggies here too. Just remember, adopting any pet is a commitment and you should not adopt any animal if you aren't willing to pay for it's continued care throughout its life. That includes sometimes very costly vet bills when the animals is ill.

Yes, It costs an awful lot of money for just the dry food, then there's fresh greens that you need to buy. Then also there is the vet bills which can vary from Medicine from about £10 to Treatment from about £70, or around those prices, as we have experienced before with some of our Piggies.

Hi, interesting subject... As well you can get the free to good home piggies and they make great pets. It usually is a case where the child has outgrown the pet and does not care for it anymore and the parents don't or won't take care of it. If you go to a show and there are breeders or those who show piggies you can get a "non showable" piggie for $5.00 to $10.00 but if they are show quality you can pay a lot. For example I bought my beautiful Texel sow at a show in August and I paid $50.00 for her but you can buy them for as little as $20.00 as well. It really depends on what you are looking for and are prepared to spend... Linda
