Is it imagination or does Bijou look pregnant? The "lumps" look like they're moving when she's stood still but it might be her breathing, i haven't felt anything move. She's piling on the ounces, gained 3oz in 5 days but could this be because she's a growing baby herself. What do you think to these pics? If she is then she must've been when i got her because the only boy she's been near is Howie Niki x

Yes she does look a bit on the preggy side Niki. Only time will tell Dawn I thought so, i tried to convince myself otherwise, it's the lighting, she's a growing baby etc. Well i've had her 4 weeks so have i got 4 to go? Niki x

She does look lop sided to me Niki, it's hard to tell how far along though, Gemma's pig didn't look pregnant at all then went on to have only the one baby (who sadly died). Is piggy pregnancy 10 weeks long? As Dawn says time will tell, good luck, I hope if she is pregnant she has a girl so she can have a friend

Aww Niki..... how exciting for you she certainly looks a little pear shaped bless her..... i have a soft spot for little Bijou she is such a cutie........ I don't think the rescue would lie Niki and it seems to be a regular thing that rescues neuter the boys.... so if she is I'd say she was like it when you got her.....

Awwwwwwwwwww i bet the babies will be so cute, you could try searching on google"pregnant guineapig" to see if they have a similar shape to Bijou

I now know Bijou is definitely pregnant. Whilst she was on my knee earlier something inside did what can only be described as 2 swift karate kicks. I think she may only be having the one as the "lump" on the other side feels completely different to the "kicking lump" Do i count the 2-3 weeks left from today or is the time left less when you "see" babies move, not "feel" babies move & do i need to do anything or just leave her alone?
Howie's a transformed pig since they've been back together, they're like a newly-wed couple, always chirruping to one another & Mr Sleepy's being popcorning ;D

I'm glad you know for sure and you're not confused. That way you know what to expect. Should you take howie out though? I think you're suppossed to take the males out. I know he's fixed but I think you're still suppossed to take him out.

Does anyone know if Howie who is neutered can stay with Bijou or not? Niki x

I honestly don't know Niki, I guess it depends if Howie would be a danger to any new babies. It seems a shame to seperate them now they're getting along I think once you feel them kicking like that the birth's not very far away

Niki x If Howie is neutered and has been for some time then yes its fine for him to stay in with her, Guinea pig males make absolutely excellent dads. He may 'hum around' after the new mum a little about 24 hours after the birth but usually they settle down and be a happy little family Luv Heather

How exciting Niki - my vet told me that it takes 4-6 weeks after a boar has been neutered before he can go in with the sows... to be completely safe... could you be having blonde bombshells?? Or was Howie done a long time ago.

Hi Niki, so pleased to hear that she really is pregnant - congrats!! I think you're okay to leave Howie in with her, just keep an eye out after the birth just in case. Dewdrops sister Misty stayed with Dewdrop the whole time, and all worked well, and I've been told that so long as the male is neutered he's fine to stay with 'his wife' and may even be a help! Good luck and looking forward to your baby pigtures

Or was Howie done a long time ago. Karen I'm assuming he was done a long time ago as his previous owners had stuck his background info on the cage in the rescue. He'd had 3 previous partners, sadly all had died & the rescue didn't say they'd had him neutered, he'll make a wonderful Uncle LOL Niki x

Hows she looking now Niki? Have her pevic bones opened? She's looking very round but i haven't felt for her pelvic bones, but today we saw both sides "kick" today in unison - it was lovely. I'll have a feel & take some pics & will update tonight ;D Niki x
