I am going to remove Max from Honey when she has two weeks left to go so that she doesn't get lonely and so that if she does give birth early there can't be an accidental pregnancy.
What would everyone else do?

I have 2 pregnant sows due a few days apart, I took one away from the boar quite early on as she likes Gingypig (he's neutered). The other i took away just the other day (2 weeks before due) and i thought it was a good idea to put the 2 prenant ones in together in the indoor cage so i can keep an eye on them, but Val just wanted to pester poor Ange (I feel sorry for Ange as she has had a horrible abscess on her face - better now!!) and Ange just squeeled all the time so i got Gingypig and she was happy again, Val went back with Pip... everyone happy!! hopefully my new 6ft x 2ft 2 tier hutch will be finished in a few days, then pregos can have a hutch to themselves to have their babies!!! xxx

The male should be removed from the female as soon as you know she's pregnant, and if they are lonely then they can go in with another guinea pig. The reason that the male should be immediately separated is because if you don't know exactly when she got pregnant, you just know because you can tell she has babies in her, she could be at the end of a small litter or beginning of a large litter, and if the male is in with the female she could get pregnant again within 24 hours of giving birth, which is very hard for a piggie's body.
However, if you do know when she conceived for sure, then 2-4 weeks before her earliest estimated due date is ok.
