Actually she is loads better tonight, after just one lot of baytril and a sachet of Bio-Lapis to rehydrate her. She was actually pushing Beth out of the way tonight to get at the meadow flowers hay and she is drinking ok and is quite lively so I think she is going to be ok. I will keep you posted on her progress but I think she is going to be ok thank god

Well despite being on Baytril and then when that had finished cystopurin, Beth's problem is no better and now she has started peeing blood so she is at the vets tonight for observation and an ultrasound and X-ray tomorrow Vet thinks it could be an ovarian cyst or maybe bladder stones. If it is a cyst then she might need to be spayed which can be risky. I really hope she will be ok I can't take much more bad news Dawn

Poor baby. Has the vet put her on Sulfatrim? That cleared Asia up of her blood wee in 10 days. I hope she gets better soon.

Beth had her operation today to remove several bladder stones. It went well and she came around from the op ok. She is eating and drinking so that's a good sign. We are bringing her home tonight. We have to keep her warm and calm so she wont be able to go back in with the herd for a few days. I am just glad the op went ok and she came round and was eating and drinking straight away. I am sure she will be ok she is strong and otherwise healthy. Her stitches are disolvable so she wont have to have them out Lets hope she is back to her old self very soon, Dawn

I had the same problem with Izzy, she was urianating a hell of lot so she had a course of baytril which seemed to work. Then she got the problem back so she had xrays and no stones found. Then she had an ultrasound and nothing showed up. She had an ovarian cyst and needed to be spayed, she bounced back in no time and was back to pinching all the veg of Vinnie the next day If she doesn't eat within the next 48hours take her back to the vets, if she was eating after the op, you will have no trouble with her by the sounds of it. Keep her warm and queit and away from draughts and noise as well. ** you have probably been told all this and i am repeating myself, sorry if I am***** I am glad Beth is ok, she will feel better now. Keep us posted on how she is doing Keep up the good work Dawn

Thanks Kim, can I just ask if you don't mind how much it cost you when Izzy had her op? I was charged just under £240 which seems very dear. Not that I am bothered because I have Beth home and well but just wondered Dawn

Well she is eating little bits but I think she is in pain when she poops and it takes her a long time. She was quite wet underneath today too so I phoned the vet for advice. They said to bring her in tomorrow it's emergencies only but they said they would squeeze me in with no extra charge.
I will let you know how I get on tomorrow Rach, but I am sure she will be ok and it's just me being over anxious but I would rather be safe that sorry.

I'm glad she seems to be doing well. Your vet sounds really good that they are prepared to squeeze you in at short notice. I think I need to put more money in the piggy fund though just in case mine are unfortunate to come down with anything similar.

Well funny you should say that because I am thinking I should have a piggy fund that way my credit card wouldn't get some much of a battering But the piggies are worth every penny. They give my so much joy, I would be lost without them so they deserve the best when they get ill.

Well we had to rush Beth back to the vets this morning for an ultra sounds and Xray again She then had to have another operation. Aparently she had suffered a hernia and some of the stitches has popped inside her causing her guts (Yuk sorry) to be hanging out. I knew something wasn't right because she had a lot of wetness and blood underneath so I ran the vet an they said bring her down. She has to stay confined in her carry box for a few days until the scare starts to heal so that it doesn't happen again Poor Beth, I really hope her stitches stay put this time. Dawn

I am really sorry to hear that Dawn. I hope that the vets have sorted her out this time. What an awful time for her to take a backward step. I will be thinking of you both.

Well we had to rush Beth back tot he vets again today, she is now breathing rapidly. The vet said she may have pneumonia. She gave her an injection, tried to check her temperature which didn't really work and said she would see her back again tomorrow. Oh come on Beth this is killing me, I really hope you are going to get better but it doesn't look good Dawn
