I have a peruvian sow, whom I bought about 2 months ago from another breeder. She is about 10 months old and has apparantly has littered before. I am concerned because she is generally very moody and despite cutting her hair as short as possible at the back, she is always constantly soaked. I wonder if it could be post-pregnancy related or if more serious like diabetes.

Today she had some odourless white discharge but I think that it just linked to her cycle. I had put her in with one of my boars, but have put her back with the girls until i can get her 100%.

I think it would be good to take her to the vet, but I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas or similar problems...

julzgirl1028: My guinea pig just died... She was perfectly fine last ngiht. I fed her a few baby carrots and some cut up celery. I woke up and pet her, but she didn't move. So I stayed with her all day until she died in my arms... What could've happened to her? :'(

aridicus: stacyb1970 Young pigs that smell like urine, are usually sprayed by mom or another sow in heat. They think someone is trying to mount them and spray. Young boars can also spray behind them, similar to a sow, but usually when a little older. Jan 10, 2020 11:36:58 GMT
