Hi i'm worried that asia has injured or broken her front left leg. She limps when she walks and holds it up when she stands. She squeaks a little when I touch it too. If anyone has any advice it is greatly appreciated.

Also. I held Asia this morning and she was fine then as i recall. She must have hurt herself in her cage. The only thing she can jump off of though is her hut and she's done it before and never hurt herself.

Could she have something stuck in it like a sharp piece of bedding?

i'm feeling both her legs to feel the difference and the one that's injured it a little bit bigger and a tiny bit warmer. She's being a very good girl and just sitting and sleeping in my lap.

Maybe she has sprained it a little, I think you should get your vet to check her over.

sounds like she has had a knock, id take anything that she can jump off out of her cage so she only has a flat surface to walk around on so she will rest her leg , if it dosnt improve then perhaps a vist to the vets is needed just to be sure , but im sure she will be ok as long as she dosnt jump around on it

thank you so much! I'll take her hut out and put a towel in and put her hay on the floor not in the rack. we will be taking her to the vet as well. we need to get a lump on her stomach checked and now her leg.

She's still limping but she is eating and hopefully drinking. When I hold her she just rests and sleeps. My dad and I are going to carefully trim her nails this evening to see if that helps any. Thanks for the good wishes!

How is she doing? Even the most agile guinea can land funny after years of doing the same thing over and over, so she may have twisted or sprained it a little after landing awkwardly. I'm sure she'll be fine. Just keep an eye on it and if it gets at all worse then get her to the vet soon.
P.S. Asia is a beautiful name.

I like the name Lottie. Where'd you get it? Lottie was called Lolly at the rescue. I didn't think Lolly suited her so I changed it ever so slightly (in case she was called Lolly at the children's nursery, thus used to the name Lolly). The Primrose part of her name came because all my pigs have flower/herb/plant-themed named, with second names beginning with the letter P. Primrose went with Lottie perfectly. So that's how she was named Lottie-Primrose.
