This morning I noticed Mimi was favouring one of her back legs. She wasn't constantly holding it up. Only when she was on the loft or running. I looked at her foot and saw nothing. I also felt all the way up her leg and checked her toes and compared it to her other one. It didn't feel any different. I can't believe Mimi is having so many problems lately. Does anyone know what her leg might hurt for?

It might be just a bruise or sprain if she's landed funny when hopping off her ramp. Keep an eye on it and if it hasn't improved in a couple of days consult your vet. As its not all the time its hopefully nothing serious.

Yes I was thinking she may have banged it on something. Will keep an eye on it. Thanks Josie.

Aww.. poor Mimi,
Yes keep a close eye on her Rach and if it seems to get any worse get her to the vet so he can check it out. Always better to be safe than sorry hey?
I hope it gets better soon, Dawn

Yes always better safe than sorry but our piggie vet is really expensive! Yes I know they can be but if she needs to go then she needs to go however much it costs, sorry I don't mean to preach and I hope you don't take this wrong. Have you got a fund put by for this sort of thing Rach? I always say I will start one but never do. I have paid out a fortune over the past month or so for Beth and Lily-Belle well it must be more than £350 in total but it needed to be done so my credit card got a battering. I hope she doesn't need to see a vet but if she does you will take her wont you Rach? Dawn

Yes of course I will take her. I know what you mean but for all the things we did for our cat moonpie last January we paid probably 3 times that for Asia's UTI.
I just took a look at her and she wasn't favouring it at all. I will still monitor it. Should I soak it in some epsom salt?

It couldn't harm to bathe it, just keep an eye on it and if it gets worse just take her ok? This is what having pets is all about but hey they give you so much pleasure that they are worth every penny in my opinion. It's just a shame they like to rip us off at the vets, it should be against the law.

It should be. Her leg is looking better. It's just a tad bit tender right now. She's still eating and drinking loads so I'm not too worried.

I have just watched her for several minutes dashing around the cage. Her leg only seemed to bother her once. It must not be anything serious. Good thing because the vet is closed today!

Glad she's okay now Rachel. I know what you mean about vet costs. I really want to train as a vetinary nurse when my children are a bit older, I'm hoping that'll help, then maybe I'd get staff discount too!!!!

Yes Jesse I have already told her (and Asia for her UTI) that many times! I really do not like sick piggies or any sick animals!
