Well...it seems that I've won at last. I grabbed a small towel, and put it underneath dale in the crook of my arm. He always snuggles down and presses himself into my arm when I hold him like this. So I managed to stop the squirming, and as he pressed down, a pressed against him, thereby exerting pressure on his foot. The bleeding has stopped now, and he's happily back in his cage, munching on a piece of cucumber. But the looks I'm getting ! He still seems angry with me. I would make a useless vet or vet nurse. I'm far too panicky ! To think that I worked as an A/E nurse for many yrs ! When it comes to my own family or my pets, I just go to pieces..

Oh poor Dale. I have done this before and all I do is dip the nail in cornflour and that stops the bleeding and seals it so that dirt and infection can't get in. He will be ok soon I am sure he will forgive you Dawn

Thanks again, Dawn ! I really panicked, I must admit. I's just that I hate seeing a little animal get hurt, especially one of my own pets... Anyway, all seems to be well, and he's been happily "talking "on my lap for the past little while....I am just going to keep an eye on his toe, as I don't want it to get infected.
