As some of you may now Sammy had diarrhoea at the beginning of the week well thankfully that has now been sorted
Unfortunately at the same time as the diarrhoea cleared up a lump appeared just above where his stitches were which ironicly had fallen out. So on Tuesday off he went back to the vets he was given a course of Baytril. She said if the lumps had not changed in size to bring him back on Friday, well i have taken him back today and unfortunately both sides were full of puss they could not drain it witha needle as it was too thick, so he was gassed again and cut and drained off all the fluid.
They are leaving the wounds open so that any pus should just come out, I have to fetch him home at 5pm
I feel awful that i have put him through all this just so he can be with the girls i must be mad

At least you have picked up on it very quickly. My Ranger had two abcesses come up after his op and it was a good 6-8 weeks after his op . He had been fine and everything had healed. When overnight he had two abcesses that burst. There were two holes the size a half a fingernail and they were left open to drain. They had to be cleaned twice daily and two lots of Baytril twice a day for a week and touch wood he has been fine ever since. Although he did stop pooping, but he just had more veg and that sorted that.
Fingers crossed Sammy will feel a lot better when he comes home tonight.
