Here is a list of dangerous medications for Guinea pigs
amoxicillin (Clavamox) ampicillin bacitracin cefadroxil cephalexin * (derivative: Cefadroxil) cephalosporins cephazolin chlortetracycline clindamycin dihydrostreptomycin erythromycin lincomycin oxytetracycline penicillin streptomycin
If your vet prescribes any of these don't use them.

I find it useful to take that list with me to the vets when I take the pigs, as you can point out to the vet if they prescribe something that's dangerous and get something safer. Baytril and Bactrim are the most common AB prescribed and are used to clear up most piggy problems.

Yes recently my piggy had a course of Baytril and after a day she was 10 times better, couldn't believe how fast it started to take effect
