Previously i've given probiotics along side antibiotics but my vet said to give the probiotic AFTER the antibiotics are finished as the antibiotic kills off the probiotic.
It does make sense in my head that if a probiotic puts back good bacteria & antibiotics kill off bacteria; good & bad then all the good the probiotic is doing is being undone to some extent by the antibiotic.
Has anyone else been told this?

A very good vet in Reading told me to give the probiotics towards the end of the course of antibiotics, so that they get maximum benefit, as you say they indicated that much of the natural flora is depleted by the antibiotics, so they need building back up after a course
I had a job getting them to eat the powder though, it just fell through the pellets!

Yes this is correct. It makes perfect sense. Probatic after the antibiotics is correct, and towards the end like jesse said to get maximum benefit of the probiotic.
