archie my 2 year old guinea has just been neutured as his brother died and we want to eventually get him a lady friend.
we picked him up on monday from his op and he seemed fine eating and drinking and squeakin when giving him hugs.
but on tuesday he seemed very stressed. i took his vet bed out which he had slept on comfortable the night before, to wash it. when i went to put it back in when it was dry he totally freaked out and tried to jump out of his cage, cutting his lip a little in the process.
anyway i promptly got rid of the bed. when placing him back in his cage he sat in one corner, not in his house like normal, he isnt eatin as much and isnt drinkin as much as usual.
after hugs today i put him back in and he freaked out again. so i have now moved him to his old cage which has bars all around so he seems happier but did not move from his bed. (not the vet bed)
i have now removed his bed as he has weed in it a lot and he is ok sat on a towel. he doesnt seem to want to go in his house which is very unusual.
im really worried its so out of character.
any suggestions? would really appriecate it? sorry its so long i no he is probably stressed as its been a big ordeal for him, but i didnt expect this.
thanks for readin hope it makes sense

When I had Google neutered he was quieter than usual and liked to just sit, particularly for a few days and only moved around when he thought I wasn't around. (I have windows in the cavy shed so I could watch him without disturbing him). I would avoid picking him up or anything like that, and minimise disturbance to his cage, just let him lie down and instead sit next to his cage and talk to him, if he wants to come upto you he will do. Try his favourite foods of all time- leave them in his cage and see if he eats them.
The utmost really would be to check the wound and make sure it is clean and not infected, if its clear then leave him be and just check on him. Picking him up will hurt him as he will be very sore.
If he still doesn't seem right, then take him back to the vet for a check.
Hope he gets better soon

My boar was fantastic after his op , he was eating loads and walking around normaly but screamed like mad if i picked him up or when i checked his wound . I think they will still remember things before and after the op it will take them a little while to calm down
