Morning everyone I thought id create a thread for Sugar my himalayan sow. Im hopeful she is pregnant although im not 100% sure. Shes a complicated one!!! If she is pregnant she should be due around the end of May possibly beginning of June. I cant be certain. Shes a cuddly sow and loves human attention. This will be my first himalayan litter (hopefully) Heres a couple of pigtures of her, Let me know what you think. Sugar - 12/05/11    Ill keep you as up to date as i can with her pregnancy. Shes a very human type pig if that make sense. She loves to be nosey and lick me. Shes a wonderful addition to my wheekers. I just hope she does me proud and has a healthy litter of pups.

Well folks im certan my Sugar pie is pregnant!!! shes fantastic as playing games!!!! But she cant hide her little lady lumps now. Shes glowing!! Unsure of a due date but id guesstimate about another 3 weeks odd.
Ill get some new snaps of her later today.

Iv done a few calculations and iv came to the conclusion her earliest due date would be the 20th May, this is far to early in my own opinion so I would guess she should have pups at the end of May possibly even the start of June.
Shes doing great though, shes still playing Aunt to Apatches pups and is enjoying munching on all the readi grass and veggies.
Ill keep you all up to date on her progress.

Sugars a very photogenic guinea pig, she loves to get her pigture taken. Shes doing fabulous too. Had her running about the piggie room tonight, She follows me about like a puppy. So sweet!

Awwww sweetpea is like that with me but I think it's cause she had me to herself for 4 weeks while her leg was splinted lol I'll show you a photo of her tonight lol

Oh I wonder how many she's carrying? She's bigger on one side than the other, so it might be an uneven number of babies. She's so cute, I love her face |

Thank you Orlaith she is a little darling!! Such a cuddly pig too.
Im not sure how many shes carrying, not really had a indepth feel about yet. Im told himi's dont have large litters so im only expecting 2 or 3 pups. Hopefully everything goes well and theres no issues. Im super excited about this litter. Im not sure if ill be rehoming any of the pups. I may keep them to get my own lines and pedigrees going.
Ill try and get some new snaps of Sugar over the weekend.

Well Sugar is fast becoming a very plump sow. Shes doing great and looks lovely. I think she only has 3 pups inside her but its so difficult to tell. Heres a couple of new snaps of her, as you can see she has grown a fair bit from the above pigtures.   Kayleigh |

Oooh, wouldn't it be lucky to capture the birth on video!? I'm crossing my fingers! It would be fantastic to capture it. The only problem being is my new phone doesnt have a flash/light and my digital camera has died on me for good. So even if i caught her in the act the video would be very poor. I managed to catch my sow Toe having her litter, well the last 2 pups. It was around 6am and i didnt even think about trying to capture it, I was just watching nature take its beautiful course. Sugars doing great, got a huge handful of readi grass and sat munching it very happily. Shes also enjoying some kale as I type. Apatches pups will be going to their new homes in a couple of weeks so there will then only be Sugar, Apatche and Buttons in the hutch. Gives Sugar a little more peace. Ill keep you all updated with her Kayleigh |
