Mine is just plain old Dawn hehe  Mind you it beats what my parents were thinking fo calling me after my Grandma that died just before I was born Phylis fancy that yuk!! Sorry but no offence Gran but it's not a good name for me lol I am just grateful they changed their mind in time  Dawn |

hahaha i love the name phyllis i think it suits you (i am falling off the chair with laughing) i was going to be called alison but my dad fainted and while he was recovering the nurse opened my mums curtains and told her dawn was just breaking and so thats what she called me.

I'm Nicola, my mum wanted to call me Christabel but my Dad had been engaged to a girl called Christine & said no (thank the lord for that) & they chose Nicola, not sure why but my middle name Jane is after my great aunt

I'm called Jo-anne after Jo-Anne Whalley a sixties comedienne who was on Martin and Rowans Laugh-in. My mum prefered my anne to have a small a and so I have been criticized all my life for being grammatically incorrect. My middle name is Ruth which came about when my mum was in labour (48 long hours!) and my dad saw a horse running called Joanne Ruth. It won the race too. Can you imagine I could have been called Jo-anne Red Rum!!!

My parents chose Rachel Faith for my first and middle names because my mom liked the name Rachel since she was in 8th grade and wanted to have a daughter named that and then they thought about naming me Faith Gabrielle so they took Faith as my middle name and Rachel as my first. |

Just plain old Julie because my Mum wanted to be called it when she was younger, BUT my grandad wanted me to be called Virginia as Virginia Wade won the Wimbledon ladies final the same day I was born!

My name's Bridget, and my mom says it's because she was watching the movie An American Tail with my sister (I believe thats what it's called, not sure if it's Disney or not) while she was pregnant with me, and they noticed one of the characters were named Bridget, and well, I guess it stuck. My dad, however, said he thought up the name on his own and suggested it, but haha, I guess I don't know. ;(

Some parents should have to apply for permission before naming their children!
Mine chose "Georgia" from the old song "Georgia on my mind" as it came on the radio whilst they were trying to choose between Hannah or Sophie, thank god they werent listening to "Hello Dolly"...... but they always called me jessie as a nickname , like jessie james as I lived in my cowboy hat and boots as a toddler and couldnt wait to have a pony
I'm so glad I wasnt Red Rum though haaaa!

Just had fun reading all this ! I am actually Irene-Margaret, but thats a mouthful, so am just called Irene. ( I have some awful nicknames,tho, but I wont be telling you what they are...lol...)
My Dad loved the song, "Goodnight Irene...", so you can just imagine how thats been sung to me all of my life !! And DON'T laugh...

My first name is Laura because (depending on who you ask) my mom says I was named after Laura Ingalls Wilder because she liked the Little House on the Prairie books, but my grandma says I was named Laura after the character Laura Petrie on the old stupid Van Dyke Show as that was one of mom's favorite TV shows when I was born. My middle name is Michelle since that is the female form of Micheal, which is my dad's name.

I love this website! My name is Maria Christina, I was named after a girl in an Elvis Presley movie, only her name was actually Christina Maria, mom decided to mix it up a little!! I know the name is very hispanic, but although I have alot of different nationalities in my family, that is not one of them, I guess you could call me a mutt!! I don't know what mom was thinking!?!?
